	Maui Maui didn't possess any military bases and that's why it was barely targeted during the Great War by the Communist forces, and ultimately none of the bombs reached their coasts, falling onto the sea or exploding in mid air before landing. Since it wasn't affected by the bombs the people of Maui believed themselves to be the only survivors of Hawaii, and possibly all the world but that soon changed. Only a week after the War several droves of refugees arrived onto Maui attracted by the island's lack of radiation and the great stretches of fertile arable land that it possessed. At first the entire island embraced them with open arms but soon enough the first problems started; the local remnants of the government and police forces became overwhelmed. With so many mouths to feed and people to take care of the island's reserves quickly depleted and when the food, medicines and clean water ran out the riots and looting began. Not only that, soon after that some of the refugees, affected by the radiation of the bombs became Ghouls and entered into a feral state, attacking everywhere who wasn't like them.
