Other details: Does jobs to try and help people, only cares about caps because he seems to need them to buy basic necessities. Is fond of books, especially those about history, or medicine. Believes his psyker powers come from the worship of spirits.

Background story: Honi lived a sheltered life of privilege in the village of Kameoka, hidden deep in the jungles of Moloka'i. His family had served as their people’s kahunas for generations. The people of the village looked to them for guidance for only they had the ability to commune with the jungle’s plants to hide and protect their village, and to mend the villagers’ wounds with their prayers. It was their knowledge of plants and poisons that allowed them to counteract the effects of the otherwise toxic air.

As the next in line to become tribe leader and kahuna, most of his time was spent training his powers, learning how to settle disputes, and being taught what their tribe knew of history and medicine. He was even given access to what few books the tribe had kept from before the war, his focus always lingering on mentions of other places in the world. What did not interest him however, was his duty as a kahuna to take a wife and have a son.

As years passed, Honi’s interest in what lay beyond Kameoka grew, and his parents’ patience with him grew thin. When they told him that they had chosen a wife for him, and that they were forcing him to marry her, Honi decided that this wasn’t the life for him. In the dead of night, he left the village carrying what supplies he could, including medicines and concoctions to keep him from succumbing to the jungle's toxic spores, as well as the tribe’s treasured plasma pistol, a relic of the tribe’s founder.

After fast-talking the sentries on duty, he began to move away from the safety of Kameoka, relying on his ability to know which fruit were safe to eat to keep himself fed, and his plasma pistol to scare away the wildlife. As he neared Molokai’s shore, he came across a horrific scene: A number of uniformed men and women lying face down and bleeding on the narrow beach next to a large seaplane, crashed in the sand, missing one of its two engines.

Honi ran from person to person trying to heal them, but they were all too far gone. All but one. She was an older woman, in the same grey fatigues as the others, but she managed to just barely cling to life as Honi began to mend her wounds. When she recovered, she could scarcely believe she was saved by a pudgy, magic, tribal boy, but a debt was a debt. After doing what they could to repair the ship, the woman agreed to take him to civilization, advising him to be careful who he used his abilities around and that he should wear clothing that did not consist of a loincloth. She did not however, tell him what happened on that beach in Moloka'i. They parted ways when they reached Oahu, where he decided to see if he could put his skills in healing and herbalism to good use.

I always appreciate a Hawaiian character, my personal character is Leilana Kelekolio. He looks good, one of us will get to him when we can, we have a long waiting list. Until then, hang in there and feel free to drop by our discord!

It's no problem, take your time! Am already on the discord as rexagon, just need to change the nickname. Don't hesitate to tell me if you have a problem with the character sheet or if anything goes against established lore!

Character Accepted!

Here are the items that your character will have to start out with:

  • Main Weapon: An old plasma pistol in low condition. Even though this was a precious artifact, it wasn't touched by those who were assigned to it as they wouldn't know where to begin with such a device. It was more meant to be ogled by those interested in the founder of your tribe. Once properly repaired, it will start to do respectable damage again.
  • Secondary Weapon: A tribal machete, well crafted by your people, it is in excellent condition. With natural dyes from the environment forming fine spiral patterns, it marks you as a tribal until washed off. (It gives +5 to all weapon dice rolls when used against Enclave, Brotherhood and Ohana.)
  • Helmet: None
  • Mask: None
  • Goggles: None
  • Clothes: Standard army fatigues, their color long since faded to an apathetic gray. To anyone looking at it now, they would see it as your average civilian clothing, even for the bandages covering your arms, wrist and hands. With your tattered hood and baseball cap covering your face, nobody would see you as a psyker on first glance, not unless they had the eyes of a hawk.
  • Armor: You have no armor on your person. Think smart, and think fast when in combat situations.
  • Backpack: A plain hiking pack you acquired from your previous charge. It is quite reliable and in excellent condition, but doesn't provide any notable benefits to your inventory beyond the obvious.
  • Item 1: A basic chemical kit.
  • Item 2: A medical multitool.
  • Item 3: 32 shots for your Plasma Pistol, equivalent to two magazines of standard ammunition for ballistic weapons.
  • Item 4: Nothing
  • First Accessory: Basic Chemkit (This bag contains several tools and chemicals that can be used to quickly distil poisons, medicines or drugs. The poisons that you can create grants +10 damage to all melee or unarmed weapons, the medicines that you can create will heal 25 points of life or radiation and the drugs that you can create can be sold for about 40 caps. Each one of these processes takes an entire day. Every 5 uses you will need to refill its contents; it costs 100 caps to refill it.)
  • Second Accessory: Medical Multitool (This device possesses in a single space everything that a doctor might need. It’s a mix of syringe, blade and many other things. It will allow you to give first aid to anybody who requires it, albeit it won’t be very useful with more grievous wounds. Every 5 uses it needs to recharge its contents; it costs 100 caps to recharge. It grants +10 to all healing related dice rolls of the person who wields it.)
  • Other: Nothing
